Amazing Polyfest Performance

121 tamariki took to the stage yesterday in 2 performances. Our Junior tamariki (teina) performed at 12:34pm with a mix of Kapa Haka, a Tongan song called Ana Latu followed by the Samoan sasa. Considering that these tamariki are 5 and 6, they did so incredibly well to learn all the kupu and actions! Tūmeke tamariki teina!

At 1.22pm our Senior (Tuakana) tamariki performed 4 waiata and we felt so proud to see them performing with such passion and they gave a really heartwarming polished performance.

Special thanks must go to all our staff for their amazing Kapa Haka teaching and preparing the tamariki so well. Mr Tom Addie did a wonderful job as guitarist for our Senior rōpū and Violette's Dad, Michael Morris a superb job as our guitarist for the Junior tamariki.

(this link will be live until the performances are loaded into YouTube where they'll live!) Macandrew Bay School was in Session 4- 3:44 for the Juniors and 4:30 for the Seniors.

Next term Nic will take a group of tamariki that are keen to learn more about Kapa Haka once a week and build on their skills. We are also hoping to have some experts come in to support learning more skills in poi and haka.
