Tālofa lava from Kererū

A few of our highlights so far have been

  • Poetry writing

  • Autumn art

  • PE - ball handling skills

  • Technology

We have created an array of creative, imaginative poems. From colour poems to simile poems, cinquain poems and kindness recipes, we have had a lot of fun experimenting with poetic writing to help learn more about language features that we can add to our everyday writing.

We have enjoyed learning about the design process and following it to meet our brief.

Our solution was to hold an event and invite our parents along to participate in our literacy and numeracy rotations and to see how we work collaboratively with Tūī. We are looking forward to holding our event in the final week of the term. We are also in full swing learning how to use Canva, an online graphic design tool to make our invitations.

The tamariki have had the opportunity at the art zone this week to create a tapa cloth design as part of Samoan Language week. Using images for their inspiration they have designed their own patterns and they look fantastic.
